SYNOPSIS

The Project Support Manager will serve as a pivotal leader in driving operational excellence across AIDT centers, with a focus on supporting industrial systems and manufacturing related training initiatives for AIDT supported companies. This role demands a strategic and experienced professional with a minimum of 8 years in management and leadership, capable of orchestrating complex, multidisciplinary operations spanning HVAC, electrical, plumbing, welding, fabrication, construction, and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking communicator, proficient in technology, and well-versed in procurement and purchasing systems. This is an on-site position based in Montgomery, Alabama, and does not offer remote work flexibility. Some travel will be involved with this position.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage project support team providing industrial systems, maintenance, and infrastructure support across all AIDT centers, and AIDT supported companies.
  • Coordinate and oversee tasks involving HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, welding, fabrication, machining, pneumatic tools, and general mechanical maintenance.
  • Ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Collaborate with project managers and AIDT support staff to align support functions with project goals.
  • Maintain and improve purchasing systems and inventory management processes.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for project support staff and project support activities.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, resource allocation, and team performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

 

Special Projects:

Accept and manage the development and implementation of special projects and other
work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Comply with all policies and procedures as set out in the AIDT Policy Manual.
  • Must be able to travel in state, and out of state as needed.
  • Plan daily/weekly work schedule.
  • Maintain housekeeping to organizational standards.
  •  Interact professionally with co-workers, general public, and others as required.
  • Comply with AIDT policy regarding attendance. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Strong knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, welding, fabrication, and mechanical systems.
  2. Proficient in using pneumatic tools and industrial maintenance equipment.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Strong computer skills, including familiarity with process management and purchasing systems.
  5. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  6. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.
  7. Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  8. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines.
  9. Strong commitment to adhering to established laws, policies, and procedures.
  10. Proficiency in operating within an automated and technology-driven work   environment
  11. Capacity to maintain continuous situational awareness and attentiveness.
  12. Skilled in professional interaction with company representatives, public officials,   trainees, colleagues, and the general public.
  13. Effective team player with the ability to collaborate and contribute to a team-oriented

 

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years in a management or leadership role within industrial maintenance, construction, manufacturing, or related fields.
  • Two-year associate degree or 500 hours documented training on a technical subject, or a subject directly related and from, or in conjunction with, a duly accredited college, university, or technical training organization.

OR

  • 15 years direct experience or 10 years direct experience plus 10 years related experience, and the successful completion of the AIDT Leadership Development Training Program within 90 days of hire date.

 

Baccalaureate Degree from a duly accredited institution in appropriate area of specialization preferred.

 

Salary and General:

Initial placement will be based on experience and education applicable to the T2 salary schedule, within a range of $77,284 – $115,601. Paid monthly. Excellent benefits package included.

 

Criminal Background Check:

The applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a Criminal Background Check consent form and to submit a nonrefundable $29.07 payment for the cost of the criminal background check. (Note: $29.07 fee is based on possession of an Alabama Driver’s License. The fee for the background check may be more or less if the driver’s license is not an Alabama license.) Permanent employment will be contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.
