STEM Ecosystems Coordinator

AIDT and the Alabama STEM Council at the Alabama Workforce Training Center (AWTC), located in central Alabama, is seeking a full-time STEM Ecosystems Coordinator.

$55,661 – $72,928

SYNOPSIS

Develop, implement, and manage key programs for the Alabama STEM Council with a focus on developing STEM ecosystems in Alabama. Reports to the STEM Council Executive Director. Work is performed with considerable initiative and decision-making authority. In-state travel is required.

 

STEM Ecosystems Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Alabama STEM Council in meetings with key partners and various stakeholders.
  • Support outreach efforts to connect stakeholders.
  • Work closely with key partners and the STEM Council to identify needed stakeholders;
  • Work closely with key partners for the development and dissemination of all messaging related to the creation of STEM ecosystems.
  • Work closely with key partners for establishing and implementing meeting protocols, including invitations, agendas, meeting summaries and needed follow-up.
  • Work closely with key partners and the STEM Council for interpretation, compilation and dissemination of gathered quantitative and qualitative data needed for a comprehensive landscape analysis.
  • Develop working relationships with key stakeholders critical for success of the STEM ecosystem initiative.
  • Develop and lead presentations for STEM Ecosystem convenings;
  • Work closely with key ecosystem leaders, including those who are involved with other statewide networks to better understand the possibilities and various models being used for carrying out such work.
  • Help to develop a network of leaders working within Alabama and with the STEM Learning Ecosystems Community of Practice network.
  • With support and guidance of the STEM Council, provide guidance and the coordination of local communities’ efforts to bring to scale the collaborative statewide efforts.

Other Project Management Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accept and manage the development and implementation of special projects and other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Coordinate with team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Meet with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
  • Submit project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards.
  • Prepare status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
  • Establish effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
  • Manage stakeholder satisfaction within the project transition period.
  • Conduct post-project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

AIDT Policy Manual minimum qualifications of salary schedule C3L are: Minimum two years’ experience in appropriate area of specialization; or Baccalaureate Degree from a duly accredited institution required; or two-year degree in specialization and one year industry or industrial training experience. Baccalaureate Degree and STEM Education experience preferred.

Salary and General:

Initial placement will be based on experience and education applicable to the C3L salary schedule, within a range of $55,661 – $72,928. Paid monthly. Excellent benefits package included.

Criminal Background Check:

The applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a Criminal Background Check consent form and to submit a nonrefundable $24.61 payment for the cost of the criminal background check. (Note: $24.61 fee is based on possession of an Alabama Driver’s License. The fee for the background check may be more or less if the driver’s license is not an Alabama license.) Permanent employment will be contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.
