AIDT at the Alabama Robotics Technology Park (RTP) in Tanner, AL is seeking applicants for a full-time Robotics Technology Park Manager.

SYNOPSIS
Provide day-to-day oversight and strategic direction for the Robotics Technology Park (RTP) in Tanner, AL. The Manager is responsible for leading the implementation of the Park’s mission, vision, and strategic plan in conjunction with RTP staff and AIDT management.
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide essential updates to the AIDT Deputy Director and the AIDT Executive Director as required through the leadership of the AIDT Deputy Director.
  • Work with RTP staff to enhance the role, scope, and mission of Phase I and Phase III. This includes working with the robot/automation vendors, educational, community, and industry partners to implement training and education strategies. In Phase III, specifically, deliver appropriate paint systems training as it relates to the Paint Systems training area and/or any new technologies current and future.
  • For Phase II, the Manager, in conjunction with RTP staff, assists tenants with any issues regarding physical plant problems, assists with connecting to universities or other experts that may be needed, and schedules the use of the test track.
  • Manage Phase II Tenant Selection Process.
  • Work with RTP instructors and administrative staff to ensure cooperation, positive attitude, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Work with appropriate RTP staff to maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies for troubleshooting, analysis, design, and program implementation.
  • Assist when needed in developing and administering class schedules.
  • Work with RTP staff to coordinate classes with outside vendors, when required, on specialized equipment and/or parts. Work with vendors to achieve competitive pricing for all purchased training.
  • Assist in developing any forms/templates/documentation required.
  • Perform all duties with a positive attitude; communicating professionally at all times to reflect a positive AIDT image.
  • Work with AIDT Management directly to meet the needs of new and existing Alabama industry as it relates to automation and robotic technology training.
  • Work directly with education programs at the K-12, Community College, and University level.  This includes working with appropriate staff from each educational program to blend RTP resources with assisting students at each level throughout all requirements.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years in manufacturing.
  • Five (5) years in robotics and automation.
  • Five (5) years in a management/leadership role.
  • Strong vision, commitment to mission, and demonstrated entrepreneurial drive.
  • Proven leadership skills managing staff in a dynamic environment.
  • Hands-on experience with robotics/automation technology.
 
Salary and General:
Initial placement will be based on experience and education applicable to the C1 salary schedule, within a range of $86,429 – $123,996. Paid monthly. Excellent benefits package included.
 
 
Criminal Background Check:
The applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a Criminal Background Check consent form and to submit a nonrefundable $25.61 payment for the cost of the criminal background check. (Note: $25.61 fee is based on possession of an Alabama Driver’s License. The fee for the background check may be more or less if the driver’s license is not an Alabama license.) Permanent employment will be contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.
