SYNOPSIS
The Project Support Assistant will assist team members in various tasks as it relates to supporting AIDT based companies and training programs, including AIDT center operations. These tasks include but are not limited to basic construction, painting applications, rigging, fabricating, and cutting metal. Physical labor will be required for this position. Remote working options are not available. This position will be based out of Montgomery. Travel is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
- Computer applications
- Basic math
- Mechanical skills
- Ability to lift 60 pounds
- Efficient in precision measurement
- Rigging with ropes, straps, chains, and cables.
- Fabrication
- Painting applications
- Assembly
Assist employees in the following areas:
- HVAC Systems
- General fabrication
- Electrical wiring/lighting
- Demolition/construction of Mobile Training Units (MTU)
- Cleaning and organizing of AIDT warehouse at all times
Safely operate equipment such as:
- Forklift
- Manlift
- Shear
- Tube bender
- Ban saw
- Various chip making machines
- CNC laser
Other:
- Identify new technologies as they relate to emerging industry and supporting AIDT training programs
- Must be willing to train and be cross trained in other skill set areas (i.e., CDL driver, welding, etc.,)
Special Projects:
Accept and manage the development and implementation of special projects and other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Work Habits:
- Comply with all policies and procedures as set out in the AIDT Policy Manual
- Plan daily/weekly work schedule
- Maintain housekeeping to organizational standards
- Interact professionally with co-workers, general public, and others as required
- Comply with AIDT policy regarding attendance. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of trends pertaining to new technologies as they relate to construction
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to work flexible hours based on program needs
- Ability to set and meet deadlines and to handle multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to follow established laws, policies, and procedures
- Ability to function in an automated work environment
- Ability to work in a constant state of awareness
- Ability to function in a team-based environment
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum high school diploma or GED certificate and two years additional college training in appropriate area of specialization; or three years work experience in appropriate area of specialization.
Salary and General:
Initial placement will be based on experience and education applicable to the E3 salary schedule, within a range of $45,028 – $61,386. Paid monthly. Excellent benefits package included.
Criminal Background Check:
The applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a Criminal Background Check consent form and to submit a nonrefundable $26.17 payment for the cost of the criminal background check. (Note: $26.17 fee is based on possession of an Alabama Driver’s License. The fee for the background check may be more or less if the driver’s license is not an Alabama license.) Permanent employment will be contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.
