Curriculum Developer / E-Learning Specialist

AIDT is seeking applicants for a full-time Curriculum Developer/E-Learning Specialist.

Located in Birmingham or Montgomery, AL

($57,452 – $82,516 annually)

SYNOPSIS

Highly motivated learner-focused professional who takes ownership of the design and development of effective training programs to include both in-person and digital delivery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create courses for both synchronous and asynchronous delivery in both self-paced and instructor-led formats.
  • Use working knowledge of a Learning Management System (LMS) for digital learning delivery across diverse platforms and devices.
  • Analyze learner needs through interaction with subject matter experts and data collected during client site visits.
  • Design training solutions based on adult learning theory that meet both instructional and business goals.
  • Create instructional design documentation to include descriptions of learning objectives, task summaries, and training outlines.
  • Create valid assessments based on measurable learning objectives.
  • Shoot digital photos/video to effectively illustrate and enhance training materials.
  • Develop training deliverables that are suitable for the intended audience.
  • Seek feedback from customers, learners, and colleagues to continuously improve training materials.
  • Develop both print and online documents to include training manuals, work instructions, user guides, forms, workflows, and operational procedures.
  • Design, develop, and modify professional-quality templates, reports, and other written materials as needed.
  • Train and support internal staff and contract instructors on the LMS and course delivery.
  • Remain current on industry standards to ensure training materials’ continued effectiveness.
  • Remain current on copyright and related mass communications law.
  • Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as project management, recruitment, research, marketing, and communications to produce client deliverables.
  • Provide assistance to marketing, recruitment, and other communications projects as needed, as well as other duties as assigned.
  • Work independently and take the initiative to develop and execute complex projects and tasks which contribute to efficiency and reduced costs

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Advanced computer skills with a focus on digital publishing and E-learning module creation
  2. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Captivate
  3. Strong knowledge of curriculum development processes and instructional design for adult learners
  4. Ability to design learner-centered training for both technical and soft skills
  5. Strong written, verbal and oral communication skills
  6. Ability to create training content for use in an LMS and manage users in the system
  7. Proactive, lifelong learner
  8. Detail oriented
  9. Ability to be flexible and demonstrate excellent time management skills
  10. Ability to set and meet deadlines and to handle multiple projects concurrently
  11. Ability to follow established laws, policies and procedures
  12. Ability to work in a constant state of awareness
  13. Must have a passport or have the ability to obtain one
  14. Must be able to travel in and out of the country
  15. Ability to work in a team-based environment

Special Projects:

  • Accept and manage the development and implementation of special projects and other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Maintain housekeeping to organizational
  • Communicate professionally with staff, company representatives, government officials, and the general
  • Comply with AIDT policy regarding attendance. (Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job )

Minimum Qualifications

AIDT Policy Manual minimum qualifications for Salary Schedule C3M are:  Minimum three years’ experience in appropriate area of specialization and Baccalaureate Degree from a duly accredited institution required.

Salary and General:

Initial placement will be based on experience and education applicable to the C3M salary schedule, within a range of $57,452 – $82,516. Paid monthly. Excellent benefits package included.

Criminal Background Check: The applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a Criminal Background Check consent form and to submit a nonrefundable $24.61 payment for the cost of the criminal background check. (Note: $24.61 fee is based on possession of an Alabama Driver’s License. The fee for the background check may be more or less if the driver’s license is not an Alabama license.) Permanent employment will be contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.
