Ask just about any manufacturer that has located in Alabama over the last 40 or so years what AIDT is, and they’ll tell you that we are workforce development. Since 1971 we’ve been working to create a skilled workforce that helps attract new industries as well as to help our existing businesses expand. And we do this through a variety of ways at no cost to the employers or to the trainee.
One of those ways is through training centers focused on specific industries. One of those training centers is the new Alabama Workforce Training Center in Birmingham.
This one-of-a-kind training center will be focused on meeting a high level of demand from construction and manufacturing employers in Birmingham and around the state.
It will be operated by AIDT, Alabama’s Workforce Training agency and supported by local legislators, the Alabama chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors, Manufacture Alabama, the Alabama Community College System, the State Department of Education and the Birmingham Business Alliance.
The announcement will take place Wednesday, May 14 at 2pm at the Alabama Workforce Training Center, 3500 6th Avenue South.
