POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
Purpose of the Position:
To provide organizational needs analysis and design developmental paths and programs which will support MBUSI’s further development.

Essential Functions: (Basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
. To perform development needs analysis for all levels of MBUSI.
. To oversee and develop training programs for all levels of the organization (New Hire    Training Programs, Leadership Development programs).
. To develop training material and conduct training for all levels of the organization based on subject matter expertise.
. To ascertain that pilot training sessions are conducted and measured to determine effectiveness and revision needed (PDCA).
. To continuously improve training concepts and material.
. To research outside consultant/service for specialized training needs and assess outside training services.
. To support the development of an MBUSI internal trainer Pool through multiplying trainer skill set and methodology.
. To manage/ support the LEAD process within MBUSI, which includes performance and potential evaluations, Individual Development Plans, Goal   Agreements, the Corporate Placement Management System (CPMS) and succession planning.
. To manage/ support the evaluation process for non-exempt Administration Team Members.
. To support the assessment center activities, which are utilized to determine potential for the next level.

Marginal Functions: (Responsibilities that are not essential, but may be required)
. To prepare and facilitate major events (e.g. Cascade Training, Leadership Initiative activities-LSI)
. Interacts with vendor personnel and AIDT personnel to schedule classes and provide reports and other information as needed.
. Performs other related duties as required.

Work Habits:
. Complies with all policies and procedures as set out in the AIDT/MB Policy Manual.
. Plans daily/weekly work schedule.
. Maintains housekeeping to organizational standards.
. Interacts professionally with co-workers, general public and others as required.
. Complies with AIDT/MB policy regarding attendance. (Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement.)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
. Knowledge of generally accepted office procedures and practices
. Excellent computer skills
. Knowledge of industrial training procedures, workflow, scheduling and planning
. Skill in reading, writing, spelling, punctuating and editing work
. High level of skill with PC computer applications, including MS Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint
. Ability to understand and follow directions from a diverse technical staff
. Ability to interact and coordinate technical training with staff, trainees, company officials and the general public in a  professional manner
. Ability to learn internal AIDT/MB processes and job specific systems
. Ability to train staff and other employees in AIDT/MB processes
. Ability to work independently with supervision
. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
. Ability to work flexible hours based on program needs
. Ability to follow established laws, policies and procedures
. Ability to function in an automated work environment
. Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple administrative functions concurrently
. Ability to work in a constant state of awareness
. Ability to interact professionally with company representatives, public officials, trainees, coworkers & the general public
. Ability to function in a team-based environment

Minimum Qualifications:
. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Development, Training, or other related function, or the equivalent combination of education  and/or experience.
. Experience: Two years experience in Organizational Development or Training & Development activities.
. Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.: Excellent verbal and written skills, excellent interpersonal skills, good analytical ability, and creative problem solving skills. Computer skills to include the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills:
Two years experience in KAIZEN/Continuous Improvement activities in manufacturing.

Criminal Background Check:
In accordance with Alabama Community College System policy and guidelines, the applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a Criminal Background Check consent form and to submit a nonrefundable $22.75 payment for the cost of the criminal background check. (Note: $22.75 fee is based on possession of an Alabama Drivers License. The fee for the background check may be more or less if the driver’s license is not an Alabama license.) Permanent employment will be contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.

Salary and General:
Initial placement will be based on experience and education applicable to the E1 salary schedule, within a range of $45,687 – $59,057. Paid monthly. Excellent benefits package included.
