It is designed to add to the state’s many workforce education opportunities. The show also features Ready to Work training which creates pathways for individuals with limited education and employment experience. Leadership Skills I is the recommended first course for first-line, team leads and/or new supervisors. "AIDT Certified Leader" credentials are awarded to trainees who successfully complete a comprehensive test given after the class. The class is offered in 2-day and 3-day formats. Leadership Skills II is a follow-up course to Leadership Skills I, and includes more advanced topics of supervision. The class is offered in a 2-day format. Download a Maritime Welding and Shipfitting application online from www.aidt.edu/apply and mail the completed application to your local Career Center to get into a free 10-week welding training program to prepare for a maritime career. Enrollment is also available for Mobile area high school class that starts in January. Apprenticeship applications are available from high school counselors.
