Expand
your community workforce with "On The Job" Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Help your community learn what
jobs are available, where
they are, and how
each person can prepare to get the one they want.
"On
The Job" shows Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2:30 p.m. on Alabama Public
Television. This week's show features Surgical Technology at Southern
Union State
Community College in Opelika; Nursing Education at Northwest-Shoals
Community College in Phil Campbell; and, Cosmetology at Snead State
Community College in Boaz.
From Aerospace engineering to
Zoo keeping, the weekly show will provide information needed to get
skills for the career wanted. It is designed to add to the
state’s many workforce education opportunities. The show also
features Ready to Work training which creates pathways for individuals
with limited education and employment experience. You will also learn
about the current jobs AIDT is helping to fill.
Go online at www.onthejobtv.org
if you missed last week's premiere broadcast–featuring training
for aerospace careers provided at Enterprise-Ozark Community
College, and the HUNCH program in Huntsville for young
aerospace
workers pursuing their dream. Scroll down on the website to view the
video. Information about this Sunday's show at 2:30 p.m. is also
available on the site.
Learn to connect education and
workforce development
through a new course
offered by the Economic & Community Development Institute
(ECDI) at
Auburn University. On November 14-15, 2007, ECDI will bring a team of
practitioner-experts to Auburn to present ideas and proven success
strategies for bridging the gap between education and workforce
development.
For more information and to register online, visit the course website
