Alabama Industrial Development Training is seeking to fill a full time Industrial Maintenance Mechanical Technical Coordinator
position. A person in this position provides consultation, training, and training services to assist AIDT and the Alabama
Robotics Technology Park (ARTP) in Tanner, Alabama, with Safety, Operations, Programming and Maintenance Training in
Robotics, Motor Control Systems, Welding, Crane Operations, and Building/Facilities Systems. Activities of the position are supervised by the Facility Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, develop, coordinate, implements and instruct robotics technical training programs in coordination with vendor
specific training needs and establish safety, and robotics training as required. This includes, but is not limited to,
established training methods in programming, electrical, and mechanical robotics training.
• Be proficient after 18 months at site to teach all basic robotics programs of each vendor on site.
• Research new training techniques and suggests enhancements to existing training programs.
• Manage trainer contracts with vendors for employee participation in outside training programs.
• Be familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Possess extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Facilities Management, Crane, Welding, Rigging, Motor Control Systems, Robotics Mechanical teardown and re-build will be
part of daily operations for this coordinator.
• Robotics Safety is top priority at this site and the trainer must be RIA certified or must attain RIA certification prior to
starting work and must be able to instruct safety classes as required.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years experience in ABB, OTC, KUKA, MOTOMAN, FANUC, CLOOS, and MITSUBISHI Robotics
training.
• Possess a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
• Prepare instructional materials in the above subject areas using computer skills in word processors, spreadsheet, and
presentation software.
• Develop course lesson plans, exercises, and practical/written examinations.
• Administer written and practical examinations to trainees in numerous different skill areas.
• Design, develop, and construct training material and aides for numerous skill areas.
• Evaluate, report, and make recommendations on trainee progress.
• Coordinate and track course schedules for all AIDT instructors with ARTP personnel.
• Perform duties with considerable independence and decision-making authority with a minimum of supervision.
• Prepare and deliver oral and written presentations in areas of expertise.

• Contributes to and extracts from the information flow of the Institute using automated tools.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

10. Knowledge of technical trends pertaining to new technologies.
11. Ability to comply with all pertinent safety, environmental and other local, state, and federal laws and regulations. OSHA 30
hour certificate required.
12. Ability to effectively present technical information to groups in a classroom or lab environment.
13. Ability to work flexible hours based on program needs.
14. Ability to comply with AIDT policy regarding attendance. (Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of
the job.)
15. Responsible for ALL Inspections on equipment required for daily operation.
Minimum Qualifications:
• All candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED Certificate. A minimum of two additional years of training from a
two-year business/technical college in appropriate area of specialization; a four-year degree preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of work experience in curriculum development and training in robotics is required.
• RIA Certification is preferred.
• 5 years experience in ABB, OTC, KUKA, MOTOMAN, FANUC, CLOOS, MITSUBISHI Robotic Training.
• Must possess a valid Alabama driver’s license and meet minimum policy requirements to be insured to operate AIDT
vehicles.
Criminal Background Check:
In accordance with Alabama Community College System policy and guidelines, the applicant
chosen for employment will be required to sign a Criminal Background Check consent form and
to submit a nonrefundable $45 payment for the cost of the criminal background check.
Employment will be contingent upon the receipt of a clearance notification from the criminal
background check.
Salary and General:
Initial placement will be based on experience and education applicable to the E1 salary schedule, within a range of $45,687 –
