Welcome to the AIDT Leadership Development information and registration page. This one-stop area will give you information on the leadership programs that are currently offered by AIDT.

AIDT now offers Interview T.I.P.S. (Training to Improve Presentation Skills) to prepare job seekers to submit correct applications, demonstrate confidence, improve communication skills with mock interviews and proper interview follow-up. Interview T.I.P.S. is available at no cost for job seekers ranging from high school students through adults.

Leadership Skills I is the recommended first course for first-line, team leads and/or new supervisors. There is a comprehensive test given after the class. If passed, the exam offers the credential of “AIDT Certified Leader I”. The class is offered in 2-day format.


Currently scheduled Leadership Skills I training:

  • July 27 & 28, 2010 (Mobile)
  • August 24 & 25, 2010 (Montgomery)
  • September 8 & 9, 2010 (Huntsville)
  • November 16 & 17, 2010 (Montgomery)

Classes are held at the AIDT Training Centers around the state from 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. To register, please contact Connie Sator at 334-280-4453, or register online.


Leadership Skills II is a follow-up course to Leadership Skills I, and includes more advanced topics of supervision. There is a comprehensive test given after the class, and if passed offers the credential of “AIDT Certified Leader II”. The class is offered in a 2-day format.

Empowering Teams (Outline) – Empowering Teams is a workshop specifically designed to focus on the characteristics of effective team players and the elements of effective teams. Participants will leave the course having explored: the work practices of high performing teams, the eleven characteristics of an effective team, and how to develop team problem-solving and assessment skills.


Change and How to Handle It (Outline) – With constant demands from the marketplace to deliver more with less, almost everyone is finding that their daily work life includes some responsibility for dealing with change. This four hour class will help you develop the ability to handle change in a more positive manner.
