New freight car manufacturer to create 1,800 jobs in Alabama

AIDT welcomes National Alabama Corporation's new freight car manufacturing plant coming to Barton Riverfront Industrial Park near Cherokee in northwest Alabama's Colbert County. Facility construction is scheduled to be completed in 2009.

National Alabama Corp. plans to create approximately 1,800 production team jobs and 50 management and administrative associate jobs to begin production. AIDT is partnering with National Alabama Corp. to provide pre-employment training for production team jobs.

Recruitment for pre-employment training and for management and administrative associate jobs is scheduled to open in early November 2007. Information needed to apply for training and employment with National Alabama Corp. will become available at that time.
