ThyssenKrupp’s new 50,000 square foot training center was dedicated as the “Eric Heine Learning Center” on September 15, 2009. Heine, who was vital to the building project, died June 1 in the Air France Flight 447 crash in the Atlantic Ocean.
Edwin Eichler, a ThyssenKrupp executive, thanked Governor Riley for the center and pledged to fulfill their plans regardless of the world economy. Alet Heine, widow of Erich Heine, spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony. She told those in attendance, “Training and self-development for Erich was extremely important.”
The training center will be operated by AIDT.
